Vibe-Hastrup takes Madrid Open for first European Tour win

MADRID, Spain (AP) -- Mads Vibe-Hastrup won his first European Tour title Sunday, sinking four birdies over the last nine holes to shoot a 5-under 67 at the Madrid Open.

The Dane finished at 16-under 272, three strokes better than Alejandro Canizares. The Spaniard shot a 68.

Daniel Vancsik, who had led from the opening round, had a 73 to finish four shots behind Vibe-Hastrup in third.

Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy shot a 70 and Frenchman Gregory Bourdy had a 69 to finish at 11-under.

The 18-year-old McIlroy had an eagle-3 at the 10th along with five birdies and five bogeys in his fourth professional start.
