Hunter Mahan recorded three eagles in his opening round at the Canadian Open presented by Franklin Templeton Investments. In the Canadian Open, which began in 1904, only three golfers previously shot 62, all at Glen Abbey, which will be the site of the 2008 Canadian Open. So Mahan joins Greg Norman (third round, 1986), Leonard Thompson (second round, 1981) and Andy Bean (final round, 1983) with 62s.

Tiger Woods made his 2007 debut at the Buick Invitational. Incidentally, he won. It was his seventh consecutive TOUR victory and his third consecutive win at Torrey Pines. Woods caught up to the pack with an eagle, buried the hopes of his final challenger with a birdie and closed with a 6-under 66. Woods finished at 15-under 273 for his 55th career victory, the fifth time he has started a new season with a trophy.

Phil Mickelson won the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in February, THE PLAYERS in May in Ponte Vedra and the Deutsche Back Championship over Labor Day weekend in Boston. Steve Flesch won the Reno-Tahoe Open in August and the Turning Stone Resort Championship to kick off the Fall Series. Weir got his lone win of 2007 in October at the Fry's Electronics Open. Still, Weir made quite an impression at The Presidents Cup.

Despite the fact that Sergio Garcia did not have a victory on 2007 PGA TOUR, he still had a season that many would give their right arms for. He was second at THE PLAYERS to Phil Mickelson, lost in a playoff to Padraig Harrington at the Open Championship at Carnoustie and finished the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup with back-to-back top-10 finishes. He was ninth at the BMW Championship and fourth at THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola.

Tim Clark was not on that Presidents Cup team. However, Clark still had quite an impressive season. He finished second three times, once to Jonathan Byrd at the John Deere Classic, once to Joe Ogilvie at the U.S. Bank Championship at Milwaukee and once to Stephen Ames at the Children's Miracle Network Classic presented by Wal-Mart. Clark finished 21st in the inaugural PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup and made more than $2.6 million.

David Toms won four of his five matches at Royal Montreal in September. The match he'll remember most, Toms said, turned out to be the only one he didn't win -- the halve that he and Austin picked up against Trevor Immelman and Rory Sabbatini. And not because of Austin's well-documented dive into the water at the 14th hole, either. "That was all funny and adds to his legacy, ... but (it was) the way that he finished up, birdieing last three holes," Toms said.

Not many other players quit the game in high school, skipped college and moved to Montana on a whim. No one else at the PGA TOUR's season opener spent five years sleeping in the back of his van and feeling like he had it made. Will MacKenzie washed dishes at a hotel to get on the ski lift. He went a month without a shower in Alaska. At Kapalua, he delivered the first eagle of the year by chipping in from 50 yards on the par-5 ninth.

Rory Sabbatini, who won the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial back in May, is the only player to record top-10 finishes in all four Playoff events in 2007. He was third at The Barclays, tied for sixth at the Deutsche Bank Championship, tied for 10th at the BMW Championship and tied for ninth at THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola. When all was said and done, Sabbatini finished fourth in the first PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup.

Boo Weekley did a whole lot more in 2007 than just make a bunch of money. In a lot of respects, he became a bit of a folk hero in the process. A little more than a month after he missed a 3-footer on the 72nd hole of The Honda Classic that would've given him the outright win, Weekley got his first TOUR victory at the Verizon Heritage. As impressive as Weekley is on the golf course, he is nearly as refreshing off of it.

Tiger Woods had 12 in 16 events on his way to the first FedExCup. Rory Sabbatini and Scott Verplank each had 10 in 23 starts. In all, 180 players got at least one top-10 finish this season, 57 of those got only one. Forty players got at least five top-10 finishes. In other stat tidbits, 99 players earned at least $1 million on TOUR in 2007, while 148 players earned more than $500K.
