Which player could surprise people at this weekend's John Deere Classic? Our experts weigh in:

Pick: Bill Haas
It's been a struggle for Haas in 2007. He's made the cut in just nine of his 19 starts. His best finish was a tie for fifth in Cancun. But, the John Deere Classic has seen three first-time PGA TOUR winners in the last three years. Haas is due for a good tournament, so there's no reason he can't make it four first-timers in four years. He tied for 17th at the Quad Cities in 2006 -- one of his better finishes on TOUR last year.

Pick: Lucas Glover
Followed missing the U.S. Open cut with a tie for 10th in the Buick Open and tie for 12th in last weekıs AT&T National. Be forewarned that anyone taking this guy should stock up on antacid tablets Saturday night: His final-round scoring average (72.00, 113th) means that if youıre prone to throwing things at the television when your guys go sideways, itıs best to keep anything harder than a Nerf ball out of your reach, as TFI did when this guy shot 74 last week at Congressional.

Pick: Jeff Quinney
Jeff Quinney is the quintessential (no pun intended) sleeper pick -- he's an under-the-radar player who's had some notably high finishes in 2007, including a third at the FBR Open and a tie for sixth at THE PLAYERS Championship. The TOUR rookie won once on the Nationwide Tour in 2004 but yet to earn a victory on the PGA TOUR.

Pick: Anthony Kim
Yes, Chris Riley has a history here, but we're sticking with AK. Like we've said, he's so close to breaking through it's scary. As soon as he figures out how to turn that one so-so/bad round each week into a better than decent one, he'll win. Could it be this week? The tournament does have a history of fresh faces.

Pick: Luke List
The last time a player won a PGA TOUR event playing on a sponsor's exemption was David Gossett at the 2001 John Deere Classic. Since then four of the last five winners were first-time winners. If it happens again this week it might as well be Luke List. Luke is a young stud who turned pro a month ago at the U.S. Open after an impressive college career. If Luke puts his name on the List of first time winners it just may be the story of the year in golf.

Pick: Heath Slocum
Coming off a pair of missed cuts, but returning to a place where he shot 16-under in 2006 might jump start this excellent ball striker's engine. And what would be better than a shootout between a pair of Milton (Fla.) High School graduates (Watson and Slocum) come Sunday?

Pick: Heath Slocum
Yes, he's coming off two missed cuts. But the Floridian knows he can play the TPC Deere Run well after shooting four rounds in the 60s and tying for third last year. This could be just the place for Slocum to regain the form that enabled him to post three top-10s in his first six starts this year.

Pick: Anthony Kim
After a hot streak earlier in the year, this strong Rookie of the Year candidate has cooled a bit, though not enough to not give him consideration to post a breakthrough victory. This is the place where it happens, at least in recent years, and Kim has the arsenal to handle TPC Deere Run. Kim is among the leaders in driving distance and greens in regulation. He should be lethal if he rolls the rock to any degree of proficiency.
