Oct. 11, 2007

When it happens in Las Vegas, you can be sure it happens big. Such is the case with the PGA TOUR's 25th annual Frys.com Open. The event benefits Shriners Hospitals for Children and is scheduled to take place Oct. 11-14 at two of the PGA TOUR's premier clubs: TPC Summerlin and TPC Canyons.

From competition by some of the world's best players and an unprecedented culinary, entertainment and hospitality experience to a hole-in-one sweepstakes for a brand new Ferrari valued at $350,000, the 2007 Frys.com Open promises to deliver an extraordinary fan experience with more spectacle and sizzle than a casino floor show.

While defending champion, Troy Matteson, and Davis Love III, John Daly, Mark Calcavecchia, Lee Janzen, Tom Lehman, Jesper Parnevik, Shigeki Maruyama and other TOUR greats battle it out for the $4 million prize purse, fans can take in all the action from "The Hill," a 22,000 square-foot luxury entertainment pavilion at TPC Summerlin overlooking the 16th, 17th and 18th holes, featuring magnificent panoramic views of the Las Vegas skyline and Red Rock Canyon and a host of world-class amenities sure to thrill both hard-core golf fans and casual spectators alike.

Aggressive engineering was required to build the spectacular, multi-tiered pavilion into the natural hillside, with beautiful caliche rock retaining walls creating a variety of both tented and open air terraced entertainment areas. Housed in the pavilion are a myriad of dining and entertainment options, including numerous lounge areas with more than 24 large-screen, high-definition televisions providing a complete update on all the current sports news and games, including the Frys.com Open.

You will also find "The Feast at the Hill," a cornucopia of culinary choices from top restaurants and eateries including The Palm Restaurant, Bleu Gourmet, Mesa Grill and Bradley Ogden from Caesar's Palace, Planet Hollywood and Pink's Hot Dogs (among many others), as well as a variety of high-spirited bar areas offering premium beer, wine and cocktails. And of course, there are abundant opportunities to view tournament play on TPC Summerlin's exciting trio of finishing holes from the best seats in the house.

Following the conclusion of play on Saturday, lively entertainment will take over The Hill, with all tournament ticket holders invited to enjoy the show. The Hill will also serve as home to ESPN, FOX Sports, 97.1 The Point and 92.3 KOMP on Thursday and Friday as they broadcast live from the tournament.

The fun on The Hill, which is expected to rival the excitement of the famed 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale during the FBR Open, culminates on Sunday, Oct. 14 with the Hole-In-One Ferrari Sweepstakes on the 17th hole. Fans who purchase tickets for Saturday and/or Sunday's event will have the opportunity to register for the Sweepstakes free of charge at the Wynn Resort Desk, located at the entrance to the tournament at TPC Summerlin.

If one of the tournament competitors makes a hole-in-one on the 17th hole during the final round, one lucky fan will drive home the Ferrari. If no player scores the hole-in-one, the Frys.com Open will raffle off one complimentary entry into the 2008 Frys.com Open Pro-Am, valued at more than $12,000.

But the fan excitement doesn't stop there. In true Las Vegas style, the tournament's closing ceremonies on Sunday will feature an abundance of pomp and circumstance. Among other festivities, a bevy of eight beautiful Las Vegas showgirls will accompany the winner to accept the Frys.com Open tournament trophy and the $720,000 cash award, while Red Bull sky divers will descend onto the 18th fairway -- activities sure to make this year's Frys.com Open one of the most exciting, exuberant and unforgettable stops on the PGA TOUR.

Ticket prices for the Frys.com Open at the PGA TOUR's TPC Canyons and TPC Summerlin range from $5.00 Good-Any-Day grounds tickets to $100 Clubhouse Badges and corporate packages. Proceeds benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children (http://www.shrinershospitals.org/), a network of facilities across North America that provide superior medical care at no charge to children under the age of 18.
