11. GEOFF OGILVY
Australia's Geoff Ogilvy, who is 11th in the standings for the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup, is making just his second appearance in THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola. Last year he qualified after a career year that included two victories, one coming at the U.S. Open. Ogilvy has not won in 2007, but he has posted seven top-10 finishes on the PGA TOUR, including a second place and a tie for third in two World Golf Championships events, the Accenture Match Play Championship and the CA Championship, respectively. Ogilvy, who began the playoffs in 24th position, comes into Atlanta on a hot streak, with top-10 finishes in the first two events of the FedExCup Playoffs, a tie for fourth at The Barclays and a tie for sixth at the Deutsche Bank Championship. Ogilvy is currently ninth in the Official World Golf Ranking.

12. ZACH JOHNSON
The 2007 Masters champion is making his third start in the last four years at THE TOUR Championship in Atlanta. He made his first start in 2004, his rookie season on TOUR. Johnson has quickly gone from the Hooters Tour player to Nationwide Tour star to U.S. Ryder Cup team member and now major champion. Johnson, who has kept himself close to his Iowa roots, has two victories in 2007 and is 12th in the FedExCup Playoff standings. What is unique is Johnson has collected all three of his PGA TOUR wins in Georgia. He won his first title at the previously named BellSouth Classic in 2004 and then claimed his first major championship in April at the Masters. Six weeks later he added a third victory in the Peach State, taking the 2007 AT&T Classic title, proving he plays some of his best golf in Georgia.

13. CHARLES HOWELL
Charles Howell III will be making his fourth stop at THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola. In his first two starts in 2002 and 2003 he ended the season well, finishing runner-up to Vijay Singh in Atlanta and Chad Campbell in Houston, respectively. Howell started the 2007 season with a bang, collecting all five of his top-10 finishes in his first seven starts. He opened the year with a tie for second at the Sony Open in Hawaii, finishing one stroke behind Paul Goydos. Two weeks later, he was runner-up to Tiger Woods at the Buick Invitational. His second-place finish was his ninth since his first PGA TOUR victory in 2002. After a four-year drought, Howell won again when he captured the Nissan Open, defeating Phil Mickelson in sudden death. Howell overcame a three-shot deficit on the final day to force the playoff, posting a par-3 on the third playoff hole to claim his victory.

14. ERNIE ELS
Ernie Els will be making his 11th start at THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola. The South African has never won the event, but he has five top-10 finishes, including losing in a four-man playoff in 2001 and a tie for third in 2000. He participated in the TOUR Championship for the first time in 1994, his rookie season on the PGA TOUR. Els has top-four finishes in three of his last five starts, including a tie for fourth at The Barclays the first event of the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup. Els looks to be fully recovered from knee injury of two years ago but would like to collect a victory on the PGA TOUR. He has not won since the 2004 season when he collected three titles.

15. BRANDT SNEDEKER
Brandt Snedeker will become the 15th rookie to play in THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola. He is currently 15th in the standings for the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup Snedeker earned his first TOUR victory at the Wyndham Championship, the last PGA TOUR Regular Season FedExCup event, where he closed with a final-round 63 to win by two strokes at Forest Oaks Country Club. Snedeker, who is currently 13th on the TOUR money, has jumped from 246th in the Official World Golf Ranking at the start of the season to 53rd. In January, he finished third at the Buick Invitational after shooting a career-best 61 in the first round.

16. JUSTIN ROSE
Justin Rose is making his first appearance in THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola. Rose and Camilo Villegas are the only players among the eight first-timers in the 30-man field who have not won on the PGA TOUR. Despite missing nearly three months of 2007 due to back problems, Rose has fashioned an outstanding season on the TOUR. He has made the cut in 14 of 15 starts on TOUR and has collected seven top-10s. He is still searching for his first TOUR title, but he was close several times this season. He finished tied for second at the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational, tied for fifth at the Masters and tied for 10th at the U.S. Open. After finishing tied for 12th at the PGA Championship he jumped to a career-best 13th in the Official World Golf Ranking.

17. WOODY AUSTIN
Woody Austin, 17th in the FedexCup point standings, is making just his second appearance at THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola and his first since the 1995 season when he was named Rookie of the Year and tied for fourth at Southern Hills Golf Club. Austin has had a career year in 2007, beginning with a victory at the Stanford St. Jude Championship, his first TOUR title since 2004 and third career win. Austin also recorded his career-best finish in a major, placing second to Tiger Woods at the PGA Championship. His finish at Southern Hills improved his position on the U.S. Presidents Cup standings from 18th to 10th, leading to his first inclusion in a national team competition. Austin has had a career year with over $2.7 million in earnings, putting him 15th on the season money list. His career-best position on the money list was 24th in his rookie season.

18. MARK CALCAVECCHIA
Mark Calcavecchia is 18th in the standings for the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup. Calcavecchia participated in the inaugural TOUR Championship in 1987 held at Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio, where he T5. At age 47, he is making his 14th appearance at THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola. In 13 starts he has five top-10 finishes, including a career-best tie for third in the 1988 event. Calcavecchia ended a year-and-a-half drought (2005 Canadian Open) with his one-stroke victory at the 2007 PODS Championship. He moved into contention quickly at Innisbrook Resort on Saturday, thanks to a course record, 9-under-par 62 during a very windy third round. In the first FedExCup Playoffs event, The Barclays, he closed with final-round 65 to finish tied for fourth and moved from 20th to 11th in the FedExCup standings.

19. SCOTT VERPLANK
Scott Verplank, who is 19th in the standings for the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup, is making his eighth appearance at THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola. His experience in the event takes him back to the 1980s when he played in the second tournament in 1988, finished T8. Since then, he's played in 1998, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2005, with only 2000 not resulting in a top-10 finish. That year he finished 14th. In 2005, his last appearance, he had his best finish, third place. This season Verplank picked up his fifth PGA TOUR title. The win came near his home in Dallas at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship, overcoming a three-shot deficit to Luke Donald in the final round at the TPC Las Colinas to claim his first victory since the 2001 Bell Canadian Open. Verplank fired four rounds in the 60s en route to the victory by one stroke over Donald. Verplank was close friends with the late Byron Nelson and also served as a standard bearer at the tournament when he was younger. His strong play earned him a spot on the United States Presidents Cup team. Verplank's victory in the 2001 Bell Canadian Open came at Royal Montreal Golf Club, site of this year's biennial event.

20. HUNTER MAHAN
Hunter Mahan will be making his first appearance in the TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola, thanks to his excellent play late in the season beginning with his first PGA TOUR title at the Travelers Championship in mid-June. After winning the Travelers Championship he posted four consecutive top-10 finishes, including a tie for eighth at the AT&T National and a tie for sixth at the Open Championship, his first top-10 in a major championship. Mahan made the cut on the number at the Open Championship and then was low for the field on the weekend with rounds of 69-65. After finishing tied for 18th at the PGA Championship, he was chosen by U.S. Captain Jack Nicklaus as a Captain's Pick for the 2007 Presidents Cup, his first appearance in a team event as a pro. Since winning in Connecticut he has improved from 202nd in the Official World Golf Ranking to 45th.
