I've got to go with the defending champ here. After a torrid start to the 2007 season, our dude with the surfboard chilled out and hung loose for a bit, but got back into the flow recently with two top-11 finishes in his last six starts. Expect him to win the Reno-Tahoe Open on Sunday and then go snowboarding in Tahoe on Monday.

Pick: Pat Perez
He's another guy who is peaking at the right time, having gained big boosts at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial (solo fourth), the AT&T National (tied third) and last week's Canadian Open presented by Franklin Templeton Investments (tied for 10th). Yeah, Perez has missed half the cuts in his last 10 starts on TOUR but only one in the last five.

Pick: Lucas Glover
Lucas Glover went on a hot streak in July, with his worst finish a tie for 27th at the British Open while his other three starts during the month all ended with him amongst the top 15 players on the leaderboard. A win this week at the Reno-Tahoe Open would not only help keep him in the top-10 on the Presidents Cup eligibility list, but would also move him up the FedExCup standings, since Glover sits just inside the top-50 and could use a boost.

Ah, the choices. Tom Pernice Jr. Bo Van Pelt. Jason Gore. So we're going with the fortysomething Aussie. And no, it's not a Texas/Houston thing. He's only had one top-10 this year (at the Buick Open) but he's got five top-20s. He closed with a 66 last week at the Canadian Open and he's thisclose to playing very well.

Pick: Ryan Palmer
He's had a dismal season, missing 12 of 21 cuts. But his game displayed some intelligent signs of life in Canada last week where he had three rounds of 67 or better as he finished tied for third. Two rounds in the 60s in his previous event in Milwaukee indicate he has a little momentum. Perhaps he can bring it home out West.

Pick: Lucas Glover
I've picked him as a sleeper several times this year. This week, though, I think is Lucas Glover's time to win. He's been playing well of late, with three top-12 finishes leading into a tie for 27th at the Open Championship. He's got lots of motivation with the Presidents Cup and FedExCup on the horizon, so look for the Clemson grad to shine.

Pick: Jose Coceres
Three top-fives this year (two of them playoff losses for seconds) means he's knocking on the door with some consistency, and now he visits a place where he posted his only top-five from a year ago. Coceres. fifth at THE PLAYERS Championship, hasn't missed the cut at Montreux Golf & Country Club in three starts, so look for him to contend. The over-40 crowd has a pretty good record since the tourney's inception in 1999.

The Champions Tour is back in action at the 3M Championship this week. PGATOUR.com Champions Tour expert Lauren Deason gives us her pick:

Despite finishing second at the 3M Championship for the past three seasons, Craig Stadler has yet to win at the TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minn. Perhaps this is his year, since the eight-time Champions Tour winner has broken par in the past nine rounds he has played in Minnesota and should do so again in 2007.

The Nationwide Tour heads to Kansas this week for Preferred Health Systems Wichita Open. PGATOUR.com Nationwide Tour expert Dave Lagarde gives us his pick:

Kevin Johnson -- A title defense has to happen sometime on this Tour, although it will be a first in almost 18 years. Johnson has made only two cuts in limited action this season. He needs a victory.
