TOUR makes changes to Communications department

Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. -- The PGA TOUR announced today a realignment of Communications department staff.

Following the announcement of Bob Combs' appointment to the newly-created position of Senior Vice President, Communications, Research and Public Affairs for the World Golf Foundation, the TOUR has reassigned many of Combs' responsibilities to Ana Leaird and Steve Dennis.

Leaird has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Communications. In her new role, she will have oversight of tournament media relations and communications support for the PGA TOUR, the Nationwide Tour and the Champions Tour as well as Championship Management tournaments, including The Presidents Cup.

Dennis has been promoted to Senior Director, Communications Strategy. In his new role, he will have oversight of Editorial Services, Business Public Relations, Corporate Communications, media information and research.

"Given her 13 years of experience at multiple levels within the Communications Department, her knowledge and expertise of the PGA TOUR and its players, the respect she has garnered from the media, our players, their agents and the people she works with, and the consistently positive results she has produced, I cannot think of a better person to step into the position overseeing the media relations across the three Tours than Ana Leaird," said Ty M. Votaw, Executive Vice President, Communications.

"Steve has compiled a wide range of accomplishments by pushing Communications resources in directions they had not previously gone. Each of these accomplishments has had a demonstrable impact on the quality and quantity of our coverage in the media. He has repeatedly demonstrated insightful strategic thinking and strong leadership in developing, spearheading and taking command of key projects in the department," said Votaw.

The changes are effective immediately.
