The FedExCup points leader is secure this week, but the rest of the top 30 is likely to see some changes. Fifteen of the top 16 players in the FedExCup points standings are in the field, and there are only about 1,600 points separating Justin Leonard in fourth and Luke Donald in 16th. Getting into the top five would be significant, since everyone in the top five at this point last year made it through to THE TOUR Championship.

Several players in the field who were top-70 seeds last year scored more than 25 percent of their 2007 Regular Season points in World Golf Championships events. Geoff Ogilvy, the 24 seed, scored nearly half of his total Regular Season points with a second, a T3 and a T6 in Accenture, CA and Bridgestone, respectively. Justin Rose had more than 1/3 of his points from a T5 at Accenture and a T2 at Bridgestone last year. He did not play in the CA Championship in 2007.
