Player: Kenny Perry
Position: Fourth
Points: 10,442
With only 89 points separating Perry from third place, all Perry needs is a top-40 finish and he could potentially move into third place. Perry's win last week was worth 4,500 points, almost equaling his 2007 regular season total of 4,926 points. Perry is in a good position to enter the playoffs in the top-10, but his current point total of 10,442 points would have had him entering the playoffs in the 15th position. Since starting the season with a missed cut, Perry has made 14 consecutive cuts, tying him with Robert Allenby for the third longest active streak on TOUR.
Player: Vijay Singh
Position: Eighth
Points: 8,652
Having yet to record a win, Singh is not having a great year by his standards. However, he still finds himself in 8th position in the standings averaging 721 points per start. A win this week and Singh would move into thirds in the standings. He needs at least solo third to have a chance of moving into the top five.
Player: Justin Leonard
Position: 12th
Points: 7,292
Last year, Leonard was in 142nd position entering this event, and had finish strong just to secure a spot in the Playoffs. This year, Leonard is in 12th and could move as high as third place with a win, putting himself in good position to make a run at the FedExCup.
Player: Robert Allenby
Position: 22nd
Points: 5,844
Allenby seems to hover in the 20s in the FedExCup standings. Last year at this time, he was 21st in the standings, and he entered the playoffs in 27th position. He has recorded nine top-25 and four top-10s, but he has not finished better than fourth. He really needs to win or at least get a second if he is going to make a move this late in the season. Allenby is tied with Kenny Perry for the third longest active consecutive cuts made streak on TOUR.
Player: Steve Lowery
Position: 24th
Points: 5,774
Last week's T6 at the Memorial was the first time Lowery earned more than 53 points in an event since his victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach. In his last four starts in Memphis Lowery has finished no worse than T17.
Player: Stuart Appleby
Position: 31st
Points: 5,173
Appleby has played consistent this season finishing in the top 25 in nine of his 12 starts, but his best finish was a tie for fourth at the FBR Open. He is going to have to find a way to win if he hopes to be in the top 10 entering this year's playoffs.
Player: Brian Gay
Position: 37th
Points: 4,690
After missing two consecutive cuts, Gay has recorded two top-10s in his last four starts. Gay earned 1,200 points by finishing fourth in Memphis last year -- it was his highest point total for an event last season.
Player: Padraig Harrington
Position: 45th
Points: 4,287
Although he is currently 45th in the standings, Harrington has earned an average of 612 points per start -- 13th best per start average on TOUR. A win will move Harrington into the top 10 in the FedExCup standings.
Player: David Toms
Position: 118th
Points: 1,583
In his first 10 appearances at the event, Toms never finished higher than T15 and missed the cut three times. In his last six, he has not finished worse than outside the top 10 and has recorded two victories. A win this year may move Toms into the top 20 in the standings.
