36-hole update

After three rounds of the second stage q-school event in Brooksville, Fla., Josh Teater of Lexington, Ky., has a one-shot lead at 12 under over Scott Fawcett, Robert Gamez and Garrett Willis.

Teater fired a 5-under 67 in the third round, while former TOUR winners Gamez and Willis each shot 68s.

PGA TOUR veterans Todd Demsey and Marco Dawson are both in the mix as well. Demsey is at 9 under and three off the lead, while Dawson is four shots back at 8 under. Erik Compton, who recently underwent his second heart transplant, is five shots off the pace at 7 under.

Chris Stroud, who found himself in the hunt through much of the Fall Series, shot a 4-under 68 at Deerwood Golf Club in Kingwood, Texas, and leads at 12 under after 54 holes.

Scott Gardiner is two shots behind Stroud, while a group of four players -- Drew Laning, Mathias Gronberg, Willie Wood and Michael Putnam -- are all three shots back, tied for third at 9 under.

TOUR veterans Neal Lancaster and Richard Johnson are tied for seventh at 8 under. Johnson, a rookie on TOUR in 2008 and winner of the 2007 Nationwide Tour money list, led after 36 holes, but shot a 2-over 74 on Friday.

Steve Wheatcroft and Brad Golden each fired rounds of 6-under 65 at the Hombre Golf Club in Panama City Beach, Fla. After three rounds Wheatcroft and Golden share the lead at 12 under with Geoffrey Sisk, who shot a 1-under 70.

Tom Gillis is two shots off the pace at 10 under, while Sal Spallone is three back at 9 under and four players including Guy Boros are at 8 under.

Longtime PGA TOUR member Harrison Frazar is alone in 10th place after 54 holes at 7 under.

Thanks to a 6-under 66 at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga. Former TOUR winner Robert Damron has a one-shot lead over John Reigger at 17 under.

Oskar Bergman of Sweden is alone in third place at 15 under after a 7-under 65, while for U.S. Ryder Cup team member Chris Riley is just three behind in fourth place at 14 under.

Chip Sullivan, Olin Browne and Chris Smith also made big moves on Friday. Sullivan (6-under 66) and Browne (5-under 67) are tied for ninth at 10 under, with Smith another shot back after a 6-under 66.
