May. 31, 2008
All times are eastern.
Mathew Goggin, Kenny Perry, Jerry Kelly
Tee time: 12:45 p.m.
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 11
Why you should watch: This is quite the diverse threesome. You've got Goggin looking for that first PGA TOUR win with the Memorial being a place that has never yielded a first-time TOUR winner. Then you have the two-time Memorial champion Kenny Perry, who has been white-hot on TOUR lately, but looks to need a win if he's to make captain Paul Azinger's U.S. Ryder Cup team in September. That's Perry's primary goal this season seeing as the matches will be held at Valhalla in his home state of Kentucky. Finally, there's Kelly who -- after surviving for the weekend at Memorial -- has now made half of his 16 cuts on TOUR in 2008. He'll be the first to tell you that's nothing special, but the fact is that when he makes the cut Kelly has something to say on the weekend.

Steve Lowery, Geoff Ogilvy, Rod Pampling
Tee time: 12:33 p.m.
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 9
Why you should watch: Steve Lowery and Geoff Ogilvy will start the third round trailing by three shots, while Rod Pampling will begin the day four back. All three have had outstanding seasons thus far. Lowery notched his first win since 2000 at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Ogilvy halted Tiger's win streak with a victory at the World Golf Championships-CA Championship. And Pampling? Well, he hasn't won in 2008 just yet, but he's got four top-10 finishes and was the runner up to Phil Mickelson last week at Colonial. Any one of these players is capable of making an impressive move on Saturday.

Fred Couples, Carl Pettersson, Pat Perez
Tee time: 12:01 p.m.
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 17
Why you should watch: Fred Couples and Carl Pettersson are both past Memorial champions, while Pat Perez is still looking for his first TOUR win. All three players will start the third round trailing the leaders by six shots. However, with Muirfield Village playing more like a U.S. Open-layout with Masters greens, the reality is that no lead is safe and six shots isn't as much as it sounds. Either way, the men in this trio will have to play outstanding golf to put themselves in a position to have a chance on Sunday.
