Vijay Singh, Corey Pavin, John Rollins
Tee Time: 7:32 a.m.
Tee: No. 10
Total TOUR wins: 48
Why you should watch:
Singh's 66 on Thursday was his best opening round since the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard in March. The veteran is looking for his first win in 15 months, and he came close at TPC River Highlands in 2007, finishing solo fourth. Pavin, 48, can still play at a high level despite his lack of length off the tee. He opened with a 68 on Thursday and should be a lock to make the cut for the eighth time in 12 starts in 2008.

Eric Axley, Stuart Appleby, Olin Browne
Tee Time: 12:52 p.m.
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 12
Why you should watch
: Axley is an interesting story on the PGA TOUR as it hits its summer stretch. Axley won the 2006 Valero Texas Open, but his exemption for winning that tournament runs out after the 2008 season. What's worse, he didn't get off to a good start this year, earning only $60,000 by mid-April. Since then, the left-hander has gotten untracked -- he was tied for 13th at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship and tied for ninth in last week's U.S. Open. Axley's strong run at Torrey Pines was fitting; his caddie, Steve Duplantis, died in a road accident near Torrey Pines in January.

Jason Day, Chez Reavie, Jon Mills
Tee Time: 1:34 p.m.
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 0
Why you should watch:
Call this the 2007 Nationwide Tour reunion pairing. Day opened well with a 67 on Thursday, and it would surprise no one if he went even lower in Round 2. Day has been a curious case this year; he started with rookie year with great fanfare and has shown flashes of brilliance. He dropped a stunning 65 in the final round at the Shell Houston Open to move all the way into a tie for eighth, and he broke par all four days at a tough AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in February. This is Day's first tournament since opening with rounds of 73-82 at the Memorial Tournament presented by Morgan Stanley three weeks ago.
