Vijay Singh, Phil Mickelson
Tee time: 2:10 p.m.
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 64
Why you should watch: Singh hasn't won in a year and a half, and this is easily his best chance to break that streak. Singh has been brilliant at Firestone South this week, but one has to wonder how far ahead he'd be without that double bogey on the final hole on Thursday. Mickelson only has one bogey in his first 36 holes, and he ranks first in greens hit this week.

Singh 16 13 -- 2 1 5 10 70.57
Mickelson 15 14 2 1 -- 5 14 70.67

Peter Lonard, Sean O'Hair
Tee time: 2 p.m.
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 4
Why you should watch: Two of the PGA TOUR's longer hitters are playing in the next-to-last group on Saturday, and both are in dire need of a strong finish. O'Hair is 15th in FedExCup points and wants to maintain the momentum he achieved last week, when he tied for third. Lonard (71st in points) has a golden opportunity to qualify for all four playoff tournaments with an upset win this week.

2008 Stat Comparison
Player Events Played Cuts Made 1st 2nd 3rd Top 10 Top 25 Scoring Avg.
O'Hair 18 12 1 -- 2 3 4 71.68
Lonard 19 9 -- 1 -- 2 4 71.04

Jim Furyk, Steve Stricker
Tee time: 1:10 p.m.
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 17
Why you should watch: Stricker finally appears to be out of the mysterious slump that hit him right after the Masters. Stricker moved into the top 20 in points after his top-10 at Royal Birkdale, and he's only four shots behind Singh in the third round. Furyk is an natural at Firestone South; the dogleg-filled course helps negate some of the advantage he gives up to the bombers on TOUR. Furyk needs a few more 15-footers to fall if he wants to produce the mid-60s round he needs to catch the leaders.

2008 Stat Comparison
Player Events Played Cuts Made 1st 2nd 3rd Top 10 Top 25 Scoring Avg.
Furyk 20 17 -- 1 1 6 9 70.91
Stricker 16 10 -- 1 -- 5 9 71.06
