| As Phil Mickelson looks to 2009, he must like his major chances. Two stand out: Augusta National, where he's won twice, is a no-brainer, and Bethpage Black is where he finished second to Tiger Woods at the '02 U.S. Open.
He'll take confidence into '09, too, after the 11th multiple-win season of his career. He won the Northern Trust Open and the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial after threading a brilliant approach on the 72nd hole through trees to set up a birdie that gave him a one-stroke win over Rod Pampling and Tim Clark.
Phil, who would have had three wins had it not been for the FBR Open playoff loss, finished in the top 20 at all the majors. His $5.1 million earnings put him third on the money list, and he finished seventh in the FedExCup.
