PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla.-- Golf Digest's Mr. Style, a.k.a. Marty Hackel, is at THE PLAYERS Championship this week and took some time out to give PGATOUR.COM a list of his best-dressed and worst fashion faux pas on the PGA TOUR.

Best dressed

1. Steve Elkington: Picking a vet might surprise some given the fashion-forward young guys on TOUR today, but here's why Hackel likes him: "He wears clothes that fit, has great use of color and wears wonderful shoes."

2. Adam Scott: As if you needed a reason to compliment this guy's appearance, "anything he wears looks great," Hackel says. "When you're that thin and good looking, it's hard not to look great."

3. Jason Gore/Kevin Stadler: These guys win the best-dressed-for-their-size category, Hackel explained, because "they wear clothes that fit and don't go super-sized on the shirts. Kevin doesn't dress like his father, and Jason wears great stuff, always looks trim and neat."

4. Camilo Villegas: Another one who's popular with the ladies in the crowd, "Camilo wears J. Lindeberg, and he looks good in everything -- see Adam Scott," Hackel said. "He also has a great red bull belt buckle by House of Fleming, and his clothes fit perfectly."

5. Anthony Kim: It seems as though this young pistol of a player has more than talent catching people's eyes. "He wears the nice Nike, Tiger Woods platinum collection and had a great shirt when he won at (the) Wachovia (Championship)," Hackel reported. "He always looks good, and he has those great belts -- the "AK."

6. Trevor Immelman: Another Nike guy, Immelman "always looks great -- again, see Adam Scott and Camilo Villegas. He is in perfect shape," said the style guru who gave the recent Masters champ one of his Hackel Awards earlier this week.

7. Sergio Garcia: Just like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get with this guy. "He can look great, and he can look like a renegade float from the Rose Bowl Parade. Thursday? He looked good. Friday? Renegade float," was Hackel's analysis.

And as for Hackel's worst fashion faux pas? Here you go.

1. Paul Goydos: The veteran Goydos might be impressing everyone with his self-described "surprising" performance this week, but he's not on Mr. Style's dressed-to-impress list. "Paul," Hackel said, "however you're tempted, never dress like your dentist. A mock shirt is exactly what it says it is, a mock of something."

2. Bernhard Langer: Another oldie but goodie atop the leaderboard this week is also failing to make par where his outfits are concerned. "While we love Bogner -- the label that he wears, which is super stylish -- a cargo pocket on your pants does not belong on the golf course," Hackel said.

3. Bill Haas: This guy's not a vet and according to Hackel, Haas is not a GQ golfer, either. "He's a classic example of a great-looking guy who wears shirts that are one size too big,"Hackel said. "Ditto Kevin Sutherland, but Kevin has an excuse because he won the (World Golf Campionships-Accenture) Match Play (Championship) event at LaCosta wearing an XL shirt, so to him, it's good luck. If you're going to wear a too-big shirt, you better have a good reason."

4. Bubba Watson: As if the TOUR's longest driver needs anything else to draw attention to him besides his famous pink shaft, he caught Mr. Style's eye for another reason. "Note to Bubba," said Hackel. "Unbutton the top button -- you're not going to the principal's office. You're not going to detention."

5. And finally, the entire Champions Tour: Mr. Style's last fashion faux pas shout out is a group award. "Mirrors are there to be used," he said. "All of you are wearing shirts that are way too oversized ... You look like you are going to a swap meet."
