PGA TOUR icons Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus have both hosted tournaments since the 1970s--Arnie at his Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando, Fla., since 1979 and Jack at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Columbus, Ohio, since 1976.

It's Jack's turn next week as he welcomes the PGA TOUR to the 33rd annual Memorial Tournament, a tournament that he has himself won on two occasions 1977 and 1984.

So dating back to when the old Florida Citrus Open (a tournament Palmer won in 1971) moved to Arnie's course in 1979, how many players have been able to win both his and Jack's tournament? The answer is six.

Paul Azinger was the first to claim both crowns, and Tiger Woods was the first (and only) one to win both in the same season. In fact, he did it in consecutive years.

The list of players who have accomplished the double-dip is a distinguished one indeed:

• Paul Azinger: 1988 Arnold Palmer Invitational , 1993 Memorial Tournament
Fred Couples: 1992 Arnold Palmer Invitational , 1998 Memorial Tournament
Ernie Els: 1998 Arnold Palmer Invitational , 2004 Memorial Tournament
• Tiger Woods: 1999-2001 Memorial Tournament, 2000-2003 Arnold Palmer Invitational
Kenny Perry: 2005 Arnold Palmer Invitational , 1991 and 2003 Memorial Tournament
Vijay Singh: 2007 Arnold Palmer Invitational , 1997 Memorial Tournament

Next week, three more players who have won Arnie's event will have a chance to join the six listed above in winning both tournaments. Phil Mickelson (1997 Arnold Palmer Invitational winner), Chad Campbell (2004 Arnold Palmer Invitational winner) and Rod Pampling (2006 Arnold Palmer Invitational winner), will each have the opportunity to become the seventh player to win both tournaments.
