In his 16th professional start on the PGA TOUR, Nick Flanagan posted his first career top-10. A three-time Nationwide Tour winner last year, Flanagan was aided by a final-round 6-under-par 64, the low round of the day, to jump from T31 to T9. After one round, Flanagan was T114 after an opening 75.
Chris Stroud (T12) led the field with two eagles. The champion Brian Gay led the field with 23 birdies, followed by Tim Petrovic's 20 (T7).
Four players posted four rounds in the 60s: Brian Gay (1), Steve Marino (2), Matt Kuchar (T3) and John Merrick (T3).
Mexico native Esteban Toledo (11) just missed recording his first top-10 since a T9 at the 2003 Bank of America Colonial.
After finishing eighth last year at the Mayakoba Golf Classic for his first career top-10, Steve Marino bettered that with a career-best runner-up finish. Marino went bogey-free on the weekend and currently has a streak of 42 consecutive holes without a miscue.
Brian Gay's largest lead of the day was six strokes over Marino after his second consecutive birdie of the day on No. 8.
Defending champion Fred Funk finished T63.
Roland Thatcher's T9 was his third career top-10 in 57 starts on the PGA TOUR. Thatcher made the cut on the number at 4-over-par and posted rounds of 61-68 on the weekend.
