GIRONA, Spain (AP) -- Thomas Levet shot a 1-under 71 on Saturday to hold a two-shot lead going into the final round at the Spanish Open.
The Frenchman leads England's Stuart Davis with a three-day total of 14-under 202 at the PGA Golf de Catalunya course.
Davis, a 35-year-old rookie on the European Tour, fired a 67 to sit second at 12 under, while defending champion Peter Lawrie (71) was three shots back of Levet.
Stephen Dodd (69) of Wales and Paraguay's Fabrizio Zanotti (66) were five behind at 9 under.
Levet, the overnight leader, was four shots clear before bogeying the short par-4 16th to allow Davis to catch up.
"I could have gone two or three shots more ahead, but some guys went way over par, so I am pretty happy," the 40-year-old Levet said. "Everything is to be done tomorrow, and I know I can play better."
John Daly shot 74 to drop into 51st. Two double bogeys over the back nine seemed to deflate Daly's momentum after the former British Open champion made the turn at 2 under. Still, Daly was pleased with his game so far in his first tournament since December.
"I love the way I am swinging," he said. "I'm hitting it solid, and I've made only three bad swings, which is good coming back. I'm just not making any putts, and I've got to get that sorted out."
