The par-3 206-yard 9th A beautifully designed par 3 with water carry off all tees, bunkers guard the front and middle left of the green. Careful club selection is required if pin placement is at the rear of the green. 2008: 0 eagles, 28 birdies, 211 pars, 49 bogeys, 15 double bogeys, 7 others. |

The par-5 570-yard 2nd Aim for the center of the bunkers if you move the ball from left to right. This should set you up in the middle of the fairway. From here, the green may look close, but it is still a solid 3 wood or more away. A 5-6 iron from the side bunkers will lay you up before the two pot bunkers. A 3-4 iron will carry them. Recommendation: Stay right; the wetland on the left is lethal. 2008: 4 eagles, 99 birdies, 180 pars, 23 bogeys, 4 double bogeys and 0 others. |

| Course origins |
| The par-72 championship course is home to the HSBC NZ PGA Championship. Designed by John Darby in consultation with New Zealand golfing legend, Sir Bob Charles, the course combines elements of links golf inspired by the great Scottish courses, with parkland golf more reminiscent of Florida. |
| Playable year-round, the course meanders around a succession of spring-fed lakes and trout-filled streams with uninterrupted views of the spectacular Southern Alps. |
