Adam's defense of the HP Byron Nelson Championship got off to a rough start on Thursday with a 1-over 71 that has him six shots off the pace. Playing the back nine first, Adam started his day with two straight bogeys out of the gate.

With a second consecutive 71, Adam missed the cut by three strokes at the HP Byron Nelson Championship. His second round was very inconsistent with five birdies, one double bogey and one triple bogey. This marks his sixth consecutive missed cut in 2009.

Five things you should know about Adam Scott
Scott's caddie, Tony Navarro, was the long-time looper for Greg Norman, Scott's fellow countryman, mentor and golf hero.
Norman and Scott's coach, Butch Harmon, urged Scott to play several seasons on the European Tour. He currently has six wins on that circuit.
Scott is one of only two players born after 1980 to have reached the top five in the Official World Golf Ranking. The other is Sergio Garcia.
Scott and his father Phil, a former golf pro and long-time course designer, are working on their first signature golf course two hours south of Sydney, Australia, near Seven Mile Beach.
Scott won the PGA TOUR and European Tour in 2008 despite breaking his right pinky finger after slamming it in a car door and suffering a knee injury while surfing.
Adam Scott: Six career titles
Of the twentysomethings on the PGA TOUR, only Scott and Garcia have more than three wins. Take a look at Scott's TOUR victories:

2003 Deutsche Bank Championship 23 In just his 34th start, Scott won on TOUR and became the youngest to do so since a 21-year-old Garcia won the 2002 Mercedes Championships.
2004 THE PLAYERS Championship 23 When the Aussie won at TPC Sawgrass, he was the youngest winner of THE PLAYERS Championship.
2004 Booz Allen Classic 23 It was his first start at TPC Avenel, but that didn't stop Scott from tying the tournament record of 21-under 263 on his way to a third win.
2006 THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola 26 He became the first Aussie and third-youngest player to win THE TOUR Championship when he won the season-ending event at East Lake Golf Club in 2006.
2007 Shell Houston Open 26 Scott hit his tee shot into a water hazard on the 72nd hole but saved par by rolling in a 48-foot putt to beat Stuart Appleby.
2008 EDS Byron Nelson Championship 27 He held a three-stroke lead at the start of the final round but needed a 9-foot birdie putt to make a playoff with Ryan Moore by the end of the day.
Note: Scott also earned an unofficial victory at the 2005 Nissan Open, which was shortened to 54 holes due to rain.
