HUMBLE, Texas -- The third round began at 3:10 p.m. off the first and 10th tees. Play was suspended due to darkness at 7:34 p.m. with 73 players still on the course. The third round will resume at 7:30 a.m. Sunday. Pairings will remain the same and tee times for the final round will be 9:30 - 11:40 a.m.

Bo Van Pelt has held the lead/co-lead a total of nine times in his career (four times in Round 1, three times in Round 2, and twice in Round 3), most recently at the 2009 Mayakoba Golf Classic (first in Round 1, tied for first in Round 3), where he eventually finished tied for 28th.
Van Pelt's best career PGA TOUR finish is a tie for second at the 2008 Puerto Rico Open presented by Banco Popular.

Knost was part of a five-way tie for the lead after Round 2 of the Shell Houston Open was completed earlier in the day. The nearest Knost had been to the lead prior to this was a tie for 12th after Round 2 of the 2009 Puerto Rico Open.
Six players managed to complete the third round before play was suspended due to darkness: Greg Norman (70), Martin Kaymer (70), Ernie Els (71), Camilo Villegas (72), John Rollins (72) and Kirk Triplett (74).
The Presidents Cup captains are in fine form this week before heading to Augusta National for the Masters Tournament. Fred Couples, who won the Masters in 1992, is 10 under (through 10 holes) while Norman is 6 under after completing the third round. The 54-year-old Australian will play in the Masters next week for the first time since 2002 after qualifying with his tie for third at the 2008 British Open.
Tommy Armour III has yet to make a bogey in the 44 holes he has completed. He is the only player in the field without a bogey on his scorecard.
Jason Bohn won $1 million in a 1992 Hole-in-One Shootout while attending the University of Alabama and chose to give up his amateur status. Bohn will continue to receive a $50,000 payment each Oct. 1 until 2012.
John Senden (8 under thru 8) leads the TOUR in 2009 in holes without a three-putt. He has yet to record a three-putt this week and has now gone 266 holes without a three-putt. Senden shot 67 during the final round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational to finish tied for fourth last week.
Drive for show? J.B. Holmes (8 under thru 16) hit a 365-yard drive on the 590-yard, par 5 13th hole before missing a 3-foot birdie putt.
