• Las Vegas native Scott Piercy and UNLV alum Chad Campbell moved to 17-under after the third round to take a one shot lead over Martin Laird.

• Piercy's only other 54-hole lead/co-lead came two weeks ago at the Turning Stone Resort Championship where he finished T12 with a final-round 73.

• Piercy's 196 through 54-holes is a personal-best on TOUR. His previous best 54-hole score was a 202 set three different times.

• Piercy's wife Sara gave birth to their third son (Jett) Thursday night at 9:44 p.m. at San Martin Hospital in Las Vegas.

• Campbell has held six 54-hole leads/co-leads in his TOUR career and has never finished out of the top-2 in those events. In those six events, he has two wins and four second-place finishes.

• Campbell (196) matched his career-best 54-hole score going back to the 2006 Sony Open in Hawaii where he finished T2.

• Laird is T2 through 54-holes, which is the best position he has been in entering the final round. His previous best 54-hole standing was fourth at the 2009 Legends Reno-Tahoe Open (T2).

• Laird, who finished No. 125 on the 2008 money list in his rookie season, is looking for his second top-2 finish in the state of Nevada this season. Laird finished T2 earlier this year at the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open. Last season, Laird finished T4 at the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open and finished T47 at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.

• George McNeill, who had missed his last four cuts (Legends Reno-Tahoe Open, Wyndham Championship, The Barclays and Turning Stone Resort Championship), is looking for his first top-10 finish since his season opening event at the Sony Open in Hawaii (T7).

• McNeill's 63 today matched his personal-best round set last year in the second round at the Frys.com Open (T11). McNeill finished T15 at the Shriners event last year.

• Rookie Jeff Klauk leads the field with only one bogey (No. 8 in Round 2) through the first three rounds.

• Jason Bohn matched his personal-best 54-hole score (198) set in 2005 when he won the B.C. Open.

• Rickie Fowler (-13) is looking to win in his first TOUR start as a professional. He had played five previous TOUR events as an amateur. Jim Benepe's win at the 1988 Beatrice Western Open was the time last time a golfer won their first TOUR start. Garrett Willis is the last player to win his first start as an official member of the PGA TOUR. Fowler is not an official member and is playing as a sponsor exemption.

• At 20 years and 10 months Rickie Fowler would be the youngest winner on TOUR since Phil Mickelson won in 1991 at 20 years and 6 months.

• Charley Hoffman is looking for his first top-10 finish since the Valero Texas Open in May. Hoffman got off to a solid start this season with no missed cuts in his first 17 events, but had missed the cut in four of his last eight starts coming into the Shriners.

• Hoffman already has a personal-best in earnings this season. With a top-10 finish this week, it will give Hoffman 11 for the season and the most of his TOUR career.

• In his fifth start at the Shriners, Hoffman has two missed cuts, a T5 in 2006 and T15 in 2008.

• The third-round leader/co-leader has won 23 of 41 events on the PGA TOUR this season.

• The 36-hole cut of 4-under matched the Buick Open for the lowest cut on TOUR this season.

• There are five former UNLV Rebel golfers in the field this week. No former UNLV golfer has ever won the TOUR's Las Vegas event. Below are their standings through the second round.

• No rookie has won on TOUR this year -- something that hasn't happened since 1998, when Steve Flesch won Rookie of the Year honors. At 44th on the money list, Australian Marc Leishman leads all rookies. Leishman was the only rookie to play in THE TOUR Championship and finished 20th in the FedExCup standings.
