How much excitement can Scott Piercy stand in a 72-hour period? We are about to find out. On Thursday night, the Piercy's welcomed son Jett into the world, and now Scott has a chance to win his first PGA TOUR event on Sunday afternoon. Piercy is also a Las Vegas native and will have plenty of local support. It's already been one heck of a week.

Chad Campbell might be interested in buying a coffee house on Sunday night. When he was going to school at UNLV, Campbell picked up extra money by working in a local coffee house. With a win on Sunday, he would be able to buy the establishment. He'll also have plenty of support from the local UNLV Rebel fans. Maybe Chad will buy lattes all around if he wins.

The first tee of any PGA TOUR event is always well stocked for players prior to their rounds. There is water, snacks, tees, scorecards, ballmarkers and pin sheets. There was a strange request from players prior to the third round of play. Pencils. Not just any pencils, sharpened pencils. There were more than enough pencils on hand, but players have to write in a small box on every scorecard so a sharp point is necessary. Tournament officials got the point and will have them in full supply for the final round.

Stat of the Day
Scott Piercy's 196 through 54-holes is a personal-best on TOUR. His previous best 54-hole score was a 202 set three different times.
