Officials announced that the 2009 World Golf Championships-CA Championship will give South Florida charities the opportunity to participate in TICKETS Fore CHARITY"! -- a unique fundraising initiative designed to improve the quality of life in the communities where PGA TOUR tournaments are held. The CA Championship will feature 75 of the best golfers in the world competing in 72 holes of stroke play on March 10-15 at Doral Golf Resort & Spa, a Marriott Resort.
Registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations are invited to participate in TICKETS Fore CHARITY by selling discounted weekly grounds, weekly clubhouse and daily grounds passes to the 2009 CA Championship. Officials announced that 100 percent of the proceeds from these ticket sales will be donated to charity. Each participating organization will receive 75 percent of the proceeds from the tickets they sell, with the remaining 25 percent donated to The First Tee.
"In these tough economic times, the CA Championship is more committed than ever to assisting local organizations with their fundraising efforts," said Executive Tournament Director Eddie Carbone. "We'd like to invite charities throughout South Florida to join us in enhancing and enriching our local communities by participating in TICKETS Fore CHARITY. Not only does the program help local organizations raise money for their individual charitable objectives, but also gives them the rare opportunity to become aligned with one of the most prestigious events in professional golf."
The TICKETS Fore CHARITY initiative is scheduled to kick-off on January 29, 2009, at the Doral Golf Resort & Spa. The program will run from 12-1P.M.
Non-profit organizations interested in participating in the program may call the CA Championship tournament office at (305) 513-4653 ext. 111.
