Round 2 Leaderboard:
1. Dan Forsman (-9)
T2. Jay Haas (-8), Gene Jones (-8), Mark Wiebe (-8)
T5. Tom Watson (-7), Bob Tway (-7), John Cook (-7)
This is the first time Forsman has led heading into Sunday on the Champions Tour. He's bidding to become the second wire-to-wire winner in event history (Bernhard Langer, 2007) and the second this year (Langer, Triton Financial Classic). On the PGA TOUR, Forsman was 3-10 when leading/co-leading heading into the final round. The last time he was leading/co-leading after Saturday was at this same course in the 1998 Shell Houston Open (T1 after 54 holes with Jeff Maggert and eventually finished T6).

In the history of this tournament, three of the previous five second-round leaders/co-leaders have gone on to win: Haas in 2006 and Langer in 2007 and 2008. On the 2009 Champions Tour however, just eight of 22 official events have been won by Saturday leaders/co-leaders.
Haas' 6-under 66 was the low round of the day and moved him up 19 spots on the leaderboard into a T2. Haas is now in position to claim a third straight title and also win a second Administaff Small Business Classic crown (2006). Should Haas win, it would be his seventh career Tour title in the state of Texas and would tie him with Lee Trevino for the most in the Lone Star State by active Champions Tour players.
Watson, making his first appearance in Houston since 1986, also has an opportunity to win a seventh TOUR title in the state of Texas. Watson's 4-under 68 moved him up seven spots into a T5 after 36 holes. Watson won five PGA TOUR events in Texas and, on the Champions Tour, also claimed the 1999 Bank One Championship in Dallas, his first of 12 career titles after turning 50.
Langer will face a tall order in his quest for a third Administaff Small Business Classic title. Through 36 holes, the two-time defending champion is at 5-under 139, four strokes back of Dan Forsman and in a tie for eighth place. However, the biggest comeback in Administaff Small Business Classic history came in the inaugural event in 2004 when Larry Nelson made up seven strokes on Sunday to win.
