SYNOPSIS
 Tiger Woods, who was making his first appearance since that historic Masters victory, will tell you he didn't bring his "A" game to Irving, Texas. Still, he managed to shoot 17 under and beat Lee Rinker by two, which prompted the runner-up to wonder, "What is his 'A' game -- 40 under par?" Woods opened with rounds of 64-64, the shot rounds of 67 and 68 on the weekend. He did lose his lead on Sunday when he hit his drive into the water at the third hole, then fell two behind after Rinker birdied three of his first seven holes. Woods regained the lead, though, with a 10-footer for birdie at the 12th hole as Rinker was making bogey three holes ahead. The win was Woods' third in eight starts on TOUR in 1997.
