Tiger's "A" game on display at 2005 Ford Championship at Doral

Tiger Woods looks to defend his title this week at the Ford Championship at Doral, where last year he and Phil Mickelson, paired together in the final group, battled to the Blue Monster's final hole.

Woods used all of his skills to take the title by one shot and move back to the top the Official World Golf Ranking. He was ranked in the top-15 in driving distance, accuracy on approach, scrambling and putting at Doral last year.

Off the Tee
Averaging 298.6 yards off the tee on all drives, Woods ranked first in driving distance.
For the 2005 season, 55 percent of Woods' drives traveled over 300 yards, and at Doral he led the field hitting 30 of his 56 total drives over that distance.
On the seventh hole, Woods' average drive was 334 yards and he hit a 363-yard blast - his longest drive of the event.

On Approach
Woods tied for fourth in greens in regulation, as well as proximity to the hole -- hitting 55 of 72 greens in regulation and averaging 23 feet, 5 inches on approach.
His driving accuracy percentage may have been under 50 percent, but Woods still averaged 24 feet, 4 inches on his approaches from the rough.
Woods was tied with Angel Cabrera for the most par 5 going-for-it attempts, as both players attempted to reach 12 of the 16 par 5s with their second shot

Around the Green
Woods ranked 13th in the field in scrambling, including going two for two on attempts from 20-30 yards.
Woods tied for third in sand save percentage -- getting up and down from the greenside bunkers on eight of nine attempts.

On the Green
Woods finished fifth in putting average at 1.582 putts per green in regulation.
Of his 55 greens in regulation, Woods was able to convert 27 for birdies to rank first in birdie or better conversion percentage.
Woods only needed one putt on 37 of the greens, and he was 58 for 59 on putts that measured inside 7 feet.

Scoring
Woods' back-nine scoring average of 32.50 was the tops in the field and almost three strokes less than the field average of 35.23.
Making birdie or better on 68.8 percent of the par 5s, Woods ranked first in par-5 birdie percentage, as well as par breakers.
The first round was the only one in which Woods did not record three consecutive birdies.
