Tiger Wins at Memorial!

June 10, 2009

Tiger Woods birdied the last two holes to break out of a four-way tie Sunday and win the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club.

Woods, who has won the tournament hosted by Jack Nicklaus four times, shot a seven-under 65 and beat Jim Furyk by one stroke for his 67th PGA victory.  With the U.S. Open coming up in a week at Bethpage Black, where he also won the 2002 U.S. Open, Woods was in vintage form.  He hit every fairway Sunday and matched his best driving tournament since the 1998 Masters.  Woods hit 49 of 56 fairways for 87.5 percent.

Woods also stayed on track for his tournament, the $6 milllion AT&T National, which he hosts June 30-July 5 at Blue Course of Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md.
