Allianz Championship, the PGA, and Boca Raton Champions Golf Charities (BRCGC) board proudly announce the dates for second
annual Allianz Championship to be held at The Old Course at Broken Sound. Bringing the legendary champions of golf to Boca
Raton for a celebrated week-long tournament and activities from February 4-10, 2008, the Champions Tour event continues to
drive all net proceeds to benefit Boca Raton Community Hospital.
The Allianz Championship with a purse of $1.65 million kicks off the Champions Tour's Florida swing of three tournaments
with the Golf Channel televising live all three rounds. The significant response and support of corporate and community leaders
for its inaugural tournament helped garner more than 55,000 spectators, and secured national and international television
exposure for Boca Raton with more than 57 million households tuning into Champions Tour television, registering it as the
largest household delivery for a Champions Tour event in Golf Channel history.
The week-long 2008 Allianz Championship schedule of events, currently under development, includes a Junior Pro-Am &
Pro Skills Challenge on Tuesday, Feb. 5th, and Championship Pro-Ams on Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 6th and 7th, and the Golf
Channel televised 54-hole competition Friday through Sunday, Feb. 8th-10th plus a host of related special events for sponsors
and participants. Founding BRCGC board members include BRCGC Board Chairman and City of Boca Raton Councilman Mike "MJ" Arts,
Christine Lynn, Dick Schmidt, Boca Raton Deputy Mayor Susan Whelchel, Don Allison, Gary Strack, Franklin Loh, Daniel Mann,
