Sun Microsystems "Bunker" to offer complimentary food and beverage to all Armed Forces members in attendance
Four Armed Forces Personnel to Serve as First Tee Announcers
September 25, 2008 - As part of the Champions Tour's ongoing commitment to honor the men and women of our military, the
Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship is extending free admission to the 2008 tournament to active duty, retired
personnel and reservists in all branches of the Armed Forces from military installations in the Baltimore/Washington D.C.
region.
The tournament will take place October 9-12, 2008 on the East Course at Baltimore Country Club in Timonium, MD. Armed
Forces personnel must present their identification card at the gate in exchange for a grounds ticket. Additional tickets

In support of the members of our Armed Forces, Sun Microsystems Inc. is sponsoring a hospitality chalet located adjacent
to the 17th tee. The Sun Microsystems "Bunker" offers shade, complimentary food and beverage service and a large screen
television to all Armed Forces members in attendance. Outside the venue, Birdies for the Brave, Operation Home Front
and Yellow Ribbon Fund will be represented. All spectators at the Championship are invited to sign a large banner with
notes of encouragement to the troops, which will subsequently be sent to military men and women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Additionally, four elite military personnel have been selected to make introductions of the professional golfers on the
1st tee on Thursday, October 9, 2009. In their full service dress, Jack Hanzlik of the USN, MSgt Dan Velez (USAF), SFC
Alan Davis (USA) & SSG Luke Burns (USA) will have the honor of announcing this year.
The strongest field of the season on the Champions Tour is expected for the Senior Players Championship. Professionals
who have committed to compete include World Golf Hall of Fame members Hale Irwin, Ben Crenshaw, Tom Kite, Bernhard Langer
and Nick Price, defending champion Loren Roberts, Maryland native Fred Funk, Sandy Lyle, Larry Mize, Joey Sindelar, Jay Haas,
Craig Stadler, Mark O'Meara, Jeff Sluman, John Cook, Fuzzy Zoeller, Jim Thorpe and Denis Watson. The list of past champions
of the event includes Arnold Palmer (1984 and 1985), Chi Chi Rodriguez (1986), Gary Player (1987), Jack Nicklaus (1990), Hale
Irwin (1999), Raymond Floyd (1996 and 2000), Craig Stadler (2003) and Peter Jacobsen (2005).
About the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship The Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship
is one of five major championships on the PGA TOUR's Champions Tour for eligible professionals age 50 and over. Dates
for the 2008 event are October 6-12. The event will be played on the East Course at Baltimore Country Club in Timonium,
MD, with a field of 78 Champions Tour players competing for a share of the $2.6 million purse, the largest of the season.
The final two rounds of the event will be broadcast on NBC in high definition and aired in more than 140 countries around
the world (4-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday). The first and second rounds of this final major of the season will air on
the GOLF CHANNEL (1:30-4 p.m. Thursday and Friday). Since the inception of both the Senior Players Championship and
the former Constellation Energy Classic, nearly $8.5 million has been raised for charities in the communities in which the
